Athlete of the Month
Congrats to Stephanie Freeman on being our January Athlete of the Month! We asked her a couple questions to get to know a little more about her!
1.)  If you could choose the playlist for the class workout of the day, what would be your very first song on the playlist?
Probably something from Pearl Jam’s Ten Album… maybe Porch.
2.)  What is your favorite food?
I shouldn’t admit it here, but I have a weakness for ice cream and pasta!
3.)  If you could choose a superhero power, what would it be?
Either teleport or have the ability to heal people.
4.)  You just won a million dollars! What is the first thing you would purchase?!
Pay off our mortgage! Then maybe buy some shoes.
5.)  What is your favorite activity to do outside of the gym?
During the summer spending every spare second on our boat. In the colder months, I love trash tv… but with 2 little girls, we are usually doing some craft or activity together.
6.)  How did you get into CrossFit and what do you like about it?
I had been in a workout rut and looking for something that would help me with accountability – really a reason to not hit snooze every morning!  My husband suggested CrossFit and I immediately said no. Then I remembered seeing Jess tagged in a post from Behind the Pines.  So I asked Jess and I took her advice to join her on bring a friend day!  What do I love about it – I love the sense of accomplishment and empowerment I get after doing a workout.  I love to come home and tell my husband how much i lifted or what i did! And of course, I love the 5:30crew and the energy / encouragement / community each one of them bring every morning!
7.)  What is your favorite crossfit movement?
Anything on Tin Tossing Wednesday! Probably back squats.
8.)  If you had any advice to give someone thinking about trying CrossFit what would it be?
100% do it! I am so happy I took the leap out of my comfort zone and am really glad I did.
